1.4410/A276

Quick Facts

EN 1.4410 (UNS S32750) is a corrosion and acid resistant austenitic-ferritic super duplex steel. Its austenite and ferrite microstructure and small grain size contributes to the material hardness, strength and toughness, while still exhibiting excellent superior corrosion resistance. It is the upgraded version from 1.4462 duplex which contain higher nickel, chromium and molybdenum content, and often used for more demanding and corrosive media.

Typical Applications

  • Chemical tank construction
  • Construction industry
  • Mechanical Engineering
  • Oil and gas industry
  • Offshore and subsea application
  • Paper and pulp industry
  • Shipbuilding

Characteristics

The Super duplex 1.4410 has excellent corrosion resistance which outperform duplex steels (1.4462). It resists well in acid environments and in media that contain chloride and has been approved in NACE MR 0175 for sour gas applications and granted ASME approval pressure vessels. Mechanical properties are very good – high hardness and yield strength, while machinability and weldability are difficult for this material – roughly comparable to those of 1.4462.

Weldability: fair
Machinability: 3 (1 = very bad – 10 good)
Polishability: yes
Corrosion class: 4 (0 = weak – 5 = good)
